Computer Malware

My friend is a computer technician, so I gave him a call when my computer started running slow. He told me to run a scan of my computer to see if anything was detected. After I ran the scan, the results showed that there was malware on my computer. I called my friend back and he told me to use a free malware removal program to get rid of the malware. He told me to be sure to scan my computer at least once a day to avoid future attacks.
